PRESS RELEASE SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

Marshfield Police are seeking the public’s assistance with an ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred this past Saturday evening, July 26, 2025.

At approximately 11pm officers were dispatched to a residence off of Ocean St. in the Rexhame area for a report of an assault that took place earlier in the evening. The caller reported that at approximately 9:45pm as she was walking home on Ocean St. she noticed an older model white pick-up truck with no license plates that kept driving past her. The caller stated that a passenger in the truck exited the vehicle and said “you should come with me” she said “no” and the male said “you’re a scary little girl” and grabbed her by the wrist. She was able to break free and knock him to the ground, as she did so the pick-up left the area, and she ran away leaving the male suspect on the ground. Police conducted a K9 search of the area searching for the male with negative results, and are currently reviewing area surveillance footage from local businesses and residences.

The victim described the man as a “skinny, white male around 6’ tall in his 60’s with dark hair in a mullet style”. He was wearing a white tank top and was missing teeth. She said he may have injuries or marks on his face from her fighting him off. She stated both the suspect and the driver of the truck were similar looking and both around the same age.
