Matthew E. Parsons D.O.B. 08/20/1976

At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday June 4, 2019, Marshfield Police Officer Thomas Fitzgerald pulled over a pickup truck.  The driver identified as, Jonathan Zakas DOB 5-12-84 was arrested on 4 warrants and numerous other charges.  The passenger was identified as Adam Parsons DOB 5-23-78 was arrested on a warrant and conspiracy.  Officers found a third man hiding under a blanket in the rear bed of the pickup truck.  He identified himself as Michael Carpine DOB 10/19/1977.  He provided officers with the correct name, date of birth, social security number, and a former address of Michael Carpine.  A review of a long expired RMV image of Michael Carpine and this suspect revealed similar physical characteristics.  He was arrested for conspiracy, possessing a glass pipe containing crystal meth residue, suboxone, Lexapro and anti-depressant pills.  Fingerprints were taken of all three suspects and it was discovered they had a plan to burglarize a jewelry business in Pembroke.  The true Michael Carpine has no criminal convictions so the third suspect was released in court on his own personal recognizance.

On June 5, 2019, a close family member of Michael Carpine called police to report that Michael had died over a year ago.  The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation ran the fingerprints taken of Carpine through the AFIS (database) and it was discovered the suspect’s true identity is the above Matthew E. Parsons.  Matthew E. Parsons is the brother of Adam Parsons.   Matthew has a long extensive history with the criminal justice system and had already had an active warrant for his arrest out of Weymouth for B&E Building Night-time Felony, Destruction of Property and larceny from a Building. On June 6, 2019, another warrant was issued for providing a False Name, Identity Fraud, Obstruction of Justice, Conspiracy, Possession of a Class B Drug and 3 counts of Possession of a Class E drug.  Matthew Parsons frequents the south shore and he is thought to be homeless.  It is believed all three suspects travel together and work odd handyman jobs from time to time.  Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Matthew is urged to contact the Marshfield Police at 781-834-6655 or use our Anonymous Tip Link found on our website www.marshfieldpolice.org.
