Marshfield Arrest - 20 year old from Dorchester with loaded firearm

At approximately 6:12 PM a local business owner called 911 reporting that a man attempted to shoplift from his store and when he confronted him the man pulled a firearm aiming it with a laser pointing directly at him. The male then left the area heading towards the beach. He was described as a black male about 20 years of age, with a maroon backpack.

Marshfield Officers saw a man fitting that description walking along Fieldston Beach ( less than a quarter-mile from the location of incident). Officers approached him on the beach by 3rd Road and the man, later identified as Laurent Joseph, (DOB  4/05/2000, of 32 Havelock Street apt. #3, Dorchester Ma.) was found to be in possession of over 2 pounds of marijuana in 4 separate bags, what appears to be numerous edible THC products, a digital scale, over $1800 cash, and a loaded 9 mm handgun with one round in the chamber and 6 rounds in the magazine. This handgun also had laser sights as was described by the victim. Joseph was placed under arrest without incident.
